Savastano Palace

Savastano Palace

The Savastano family originated in Veroli from the 18th century and probably passed in Campania with Francesco Paolo Savastano who in 1774 took his degree in law at the Univeristy of Naples. The origin of the surname is to be found in some modifications of transcription and dialectal phonetics of the proper name Sebastiano belonged to an unknown parent.

The clear nobility of the family is testified by the presence in both Capua and Caiazzo of the homonymous noble palaces and extensive properties in working land.

The Savastano palace is located in the historic center in via Aulo Attilio Caiatino and is an imposing building of private ownership.

Also in the building there are Roman epigraphs, for example in the right doorframe we find, is written IUSTITIAM

Detail of framed windows

On the main facade on the main floor we find 7 windows framed by mixed stucco, each of them is surmounted by a half-length terracotta depicting a day of the week.

Particular workshop

At the bottom of these 7 windows we find 6 shops divided in the center by the simple but majestic portal that leads into the courtyard in Neapolitan style..
